The nth room case is a large-scale sex offense and sexual exploitation case that has been continuing since the second half of 2018 until 2020.
nickname ‘갓갓’ pretended to be a police officer to a Twitter deviating account and threatened them with personal information to take shameful videos or obscene videos. The video made in this way created eight chat rooms from Room 1 to Room 8 and posted sexual exploitation pornography here, which was called 'nth room'. ‘갓갓’ who created the nth room, recorded the exploitation of 3~4 women who were victims in each room. In total, 260,000 people live in these rooms, and the number of victims reaches Thousands. They came in with money, so all who did are criminals.
In Korea, 2.6 million people agreed to a petition demanding the disclosure of nth room users, and more petitions were received for n-room. In addition to the nth room, there are more sexual exploitation rooms such as '박사방' and 'nth room'. Currently, these crimes do not happen suddenly in the day.
In Korea, we are pushing for strong punishment and response to related cases so that such crimes do not recur, and uploading hash tags (#nthroomcase, #shut_the_nthroom) to SNS such as Twitter and Instagram.
